Back in the crapfest that was 2020, something cool actually happened when Camping World and the NHRA partnered up for the 2021 racing season. That union is now bearing fruit. The rather large joining of forces is rather timely as the NHRA celebrates its 70th anniversary and Camping World celebrates its 55th year in 2021 also. The partnership went into action this weekend in Gainesville, Florida with the inaugural NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series.
The sponsorship is an ideal fit for both organizations. For more than five decades, Camping World has proudly offered specialized products and accessories, expert advice and professional service to RV owners and campers. NHRA’s drivers, teams and fanbase are deeply-rooted in RVs, camping, towing and outdoor living.
Throughout the life of the sponsorship, the NHRA is expected to deliver growth and fan retention for Camping World. Camping World, which has more than 160 locations nationwide, will also have a significant presence at NHRA national events and on NHRA’s television coverage with the FOX broadcast network and Fox Sports 1 (FS1).

Though it has grown into a global sports-entertainment business, NHRA has not lost sight of Parks’ original goal: to provide competitors a place to race. But now those places are deluxe supertracks in major U.S. markets, and the racing runs the gamut from 10,000-horsepower Top Fuel dragsters to five-horsepower Jr. Dragsters. Drag racing’s journey through the decades has been sometimes swift, sometimes rocky, but always exciting and always worth the trip. In the 1950s, top performance marks were 140 mph in nine seconds. Today, they’re more than 330 mph in less than 3.7 seconds.
